CHARGING DEVICE FOR BATTERY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure reliability by preventing high current from flowing in a battery charge change-over means in a vehicle equipped with a sub-battery exclusively used as a starter power source in restart of idling stop control separately from a main-battery used as the starter power source in normal start by key start operation.

SOLUTION: A condition where a booster cable 20 is connected to either the main-battery 2 or the sub-battery 3 and electric power is supplied to another vehicle is detected when the sub-battery 3 is connected to an alternator 4 and is charged after an engine is automatically stopped and restarted. Connection of a charge relay 10 is prohibited to prevent high current from flowing in the charge relay 10 when such a condition is detected.
