PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain good characteristics even by all-over recording, by gradually increasing quantity of heat generated by each of heat generating elements taking one-line arrangement by one heat pulse from one positioned at the central part toward ones positioned at terminal parts. CONSTITUTION:A driver 13 allows the heat generating elements a-h of a thermal head 14 to generate heat and drives the drive coils Sphi1-Sphi4 of the pulse motor 15 for moving a carriage and the drive coils Fphi1-Fphi4 of the pulse motor 16 for a paper feed mechanism. The quantity of power consumed per one heat pulse by each heat generating element is set by the width of a heat pulse or pulse voltage so that about 1.32mJ is consumed by the heat generating elements (d), (e) positioned at the central part, about 1.33mJ by adjacent ones (c), (f), about 1.38mJ by ones (b), (g) outside said ones (c), (f) and about 1.45mJ by ones (a), (h) positioned at outermost sides. |
