The unit has a rolling body (2) widely rolled in a spiral shaped rolling path until beginning of a spiral groove (12). A switching device switches a sunscreen drive in freely adjustable switching positions. The positions and/or a direction of rotation and/or speed of the rolling body on the spiral groove are sensed with the help of an electrical current (15). The electrical current of electronics (16) supplies an encoder signal. A null position is obtained when an end-switch is activated. The switching positions are assigned to transverse paths.
