An immunogenic or vaccine composition for protection against coccidiosis comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient and a mixture of sporulated oocysts isolated from precocious strains of E. acervulina, E. maxima and E. tenella. The composition has reduced cross-infection with Clostridium spp. The invention further relates to a method for inducing an immunological or protective response in chickens.
