PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapping die the safety of which is improved by controlling rotation when the die is detached from a punch press. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the tapping die provided with: a cylindrical body (37) which is inserted and installed into the mounting part of the upper turret in the punch press in the state where its rotation is controlled; and a rotary body (39) which is provided with a tap (43) and which is installed in the cylindrical body (37), wherein a rotation controlling means (47) for controlling the rotation of the rotary body (39) to the cylindrical body (37) when the tapping die is detached from the mounting part, is included.
