PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support apparatus and a parking support method, capable of furthermore reducing the burden on a vehicle driver through a parking support by calculating a string of parking paths including turnabout. SOLUTION: The initial position and attitude of parking and the target position for parking and the parking attitude are detected, and a candidate region where a position as a contact of the first moving path and the second moving path can exist is calculated, provided that the first moving path represents a path capable of being set as a vehicle path from the initial position in accordance with the initial attitude while the second moving path represents a path capable of being set as a vehicle path to reach the target position in accordance with the parking attitude. The position selected by a vehicle occupant within the candidate region or the position optionally and automatically selected within the candidate region is determined as the turnabout position, and a string of paths to reach the target position from the initial position via the turnabout position is calculated as the parking path.
