PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood flip-up device that enables a pushed up hood panel to smoothly exhibit buffer action and that can be configured compactly.SOLUTION: A hood flip-up device comprises: a hinge mechanism 11 configured such that a hood panel is opened by lifting the front end side of a hood panel 10 of a vehicle V; an actuator 41 containing a gas generator; and two plastically-deformable link pieces 23, 29. In the actuator, the respective root part sides of link pieces 29, 23 to be pivotally supported by the hood-side base and hinge arm side of the hinge mechanism are pivotally supported at the leading end of a link side part 41a pushed out at the time of actuation. During operation, the actuator increases an intersection angle on the root part sides of the link pieces 29, 23 and pushes the hood side base upwards from the vehicle body side base 12 side. When the operation terminates, root side pivotal support parts 32a, 25a on the root part sides of the link pieces 29, 23 are stopped at positions beyond a dead point between the leading side pivotal support parts 30a, 24a on the respective leading end sides of the link pieces.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
