摘要 A storage battery module is provided in which, even in a case where the storage battery module is formed by integrally assembling a plurality of secondary batteries, the secondary batteries can be compactly assembled while non-uniformity in battery temperature distribution is prevented, and wiring connection work is facilitated. Using a secondary battery RB (RB1 to RB4) including a battery can 10 that houses an electrode group 1 and rectanglar shape two secondary batteries are juxtaposed in parallel, they are spaced by a predetermined distance from each other, and with respect to these juxtaposed secondary batteries as one unit, in a direction in which units of these are stacked, these units are shifted in orientation by 90° from each other, and thus a storage battery module (M1 to M8) having a configuration in which a plurality of secondary batteries are stacked in parallel crosses is obtained.

A storage battery module comprising a stacked type secondary battery including, inside a battery can, an electrode group in which positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates are stacked via separators to form a plurality of layers, the storage battery module being composed of a plurality of the secondary batteries connected together and integrated into one body, wherein battery cans of respective secondary batteries are insulated from each other, the secondary battery houses the electrode group and has, in a plan view, a shape of a rectangle with a long side and a short side, a plurality of the secondary batteries are arranged in a structure where they are stacked in parallel crosses such that in a direction in which the secondary batteries are juxtaposed, with the respective long sides thereof aligned in parallel, the secondary batteries are spaced by a predetermined distance from each other, and in a direction in which the secondary batteries are stacked, the secondary batteries are shifted in orientation by 90° from each other, with an open space portion formed in a center portion of the structure, positive and negative electrode external terminals are provided on both opposed side surfaces of the battery can along the short sides thereof, a pair of the secondary batteries are juxtaposed side by side such that the respective positive and negative electrode external terminals thereof are alternate in orientation to form a tier unit, and the tier units are stacked in parallel crosses, and a protection circuit installation portion or a wiring portion is arranged in the open space portion.
