摘要 PURPOSE:To simply and efficiently reduce N2O in exhaust gas by passing combustion exhaust gas through a dust removing porous ceramic filter and further passing the same through a catalyst bed composed of gamma-alumina arranged to a region where the temp. of the exhaust gas is specific temp. or higher on the downstream side of said ceramic filter. CONSTITUTION:Combustion exhaust gas is passed through a dust removing ceramic filter 5 and further passed through the N2O decomposing catalyst packed bed 6 composed of gamma-alumina arranged to a region where the temp. of the exhaust gas is 550 deg.C or higher on the downstream side of said filter 5. As the material of the porous ceramic filter, a high temp.-resistant one such as alumina or magnesia is used. As the shape of the filter, a honeycomb one packed with elements is used. By this simple means wherein the porous ceramic filter capable of removing dust at high temp. and the catalyst having N2O decomposing capacity at high temp. are combined, N2O in the exhaust gas is effectively reduced.
