PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that can suppress loss caused by drag due to oil by including air bubbles in cooling oil without changing a magnetic circuit of a rotor and thus can improve efficiency.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 1 includes: a stator 3 fixed to a housing 2 and comprising a stator core 4 having a projecting coil end 15 on an end surface; and a rotor 5 that has a rotor core 6 formed by laminating core sheets in the rotating shaft direction, opposing to an inner hole surface of the stator 3 leaving a clearance G and rotatably journaled to the housing 2 and a pair of rotor side plates 7a nipping both end surfaces of the rotor core 6. Either one or both of the rotor side plates 7a have an annular shape and include an air passage 8a formed by communicating an air inlet 9a provided on the inner peripheral surface 19 with an air outlet 10a provided on the outer peripheral surface, and oil CL is stored in the housing 2 so that at least an outer peripheral bottom surface of the rotor core 6 is immersed in the oil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
