PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress wear of a transfer member due to contact with an intermediate transfer belt when a non-rotating transfer member is used in transferring a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor to the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt that is driven to rotate by the transfer member, so as to properly transfer the toner image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor on the intermediate transfer belt for a long period.SOLUTION: In an intermediate transfer unit 20 that transfers a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor 10 to the outer peripheral surface of an intermediate transfer belt 21 that is driven to rotate by a transfer member 30, a guide member 31 that brings the intermediate transfer belt into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor to form a nip part, and an electrode member 32 to which a transfer bias voltage is applied are provided, as a non-rotating transfer member, separately on the inner peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt opposing to the photoreceptor with the intermediate transfer belt therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
