In the apparatus for the west treatment of loose fibrous material and esp. for washing raw wool, as disclosed in DT 1510182 comprising a container with: (a) a sieve-drum conveyor immersed in the liquid which flows through it transversely to the direction of advance of the fibrous material, and in close contact with, (b) a parallel squeeze below the surface of the liquid, which compresses the fibrous material against the drum, the improvement whereby a guide drum is provided parallel to the sieve drum and if necessary is similarly immersed in the liquid, with an air-filled roll arranged in the nip on the underside of the two drums, acting as a squeeze roll only as a result of the upthrust exerted on it at the peripheral surface of the drums. |
