The metal foil is covered by the vinyl coating but lies exposed at its opposed rims and is wrapped round together with the vinyl film so that opposed rims run across te packed cheese and sectors adjoining each rim overlap those on the other. These overlapped areas are folded onto themselves but away from the cheese and thus kept out of contact with this. The foil areas along the rims transverse to these opposed rims are then joined to totally enclose the product.
