An apparatus for cooling melt-spun filaments, e.g. Nylon 6, comprises an air chamber (1), a tubular chamber member (2) extending perpendicular from the lower end of the air chamber and a buffer wall (3) arranged within the tubular chamber member to provide at least one chamber (B) in addition to a chamber (A) through which the spun filaments run. A plurality of small air-permeable pores (4) perforate the buffer wall. |
