PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material on which a sharp image can be produced and a good erased state can be obtd., by incorporating coloring compds., developer, specified matrix agent and decolorizing agent into the image forming material, separating the coloring compds., the developer and the decolorizing agent from the form of microcapsules. SOLUTION: This image forming material contains coloring compds., a developer, a matrix agent having electron donating groups in the total number as <=5% of the total carbon number, and a decolorizing agent. The coloring compds., the developer and the decolorizing agent are separated from the form of microcapsules. The coloring compds. are precursors of dyes which form colored information such as characters and figures, and the developer is a compd. which allows the coloring compd. to produce colors by the interaction with the coloring compd. The decolorizing agent is a compd. having prior solubility with regard to the developer, and is classified into a reversible decolorizing agent, a compatible decolorizing agent and a phase separation inhibitor corresponding to the stability of the decolorized state of the image. |
