PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the buildup of an optical subscriber system network by simply configuring a station side receiver and a subscriber side transmitter. SOLUTION: A network of a subscriber system is configured to be a straight line network that connects a station 10 and an and light source 11 that supplies a DC light. Subscribers #1, #2 are connected in series between the station 10 and the end light source 11. A signal light that is produced by modulating a DC light supplied from the end light source 11 with an external modulator or the like is transmitted to the station 10. A time slot permitting modulation of the DC light is assigned to the subscribers #1, #2 and a signal from its own subscriber device is set to time slots assigned to itself. Since the station 10 is configured to have the end light source 11, communication from the station to a subscriber can be made by using a same transmission line with a looped network. |
