The worm press, esp. a sugar beet chip press, has a spindle body, rotating within a cylindrical sieve jacket relative to it. The spindle carries worm blades, and the inside of the jacket has projections, extending into the press goods, between the worm pitch. Over part of its length, the sieve jacket carries interrupted worm blades (16), with a pitch opposite to the worm blades (17) on the spindle (1), and extending close to the spindle. Spindle and sieve are driven in opposite directions, or alternately, in the same direction at different RPM. The worm blades are pitch adjustable from outside.
|
