PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new human transcription-associated protein which binds to human nucleoprotein Npw 38 and is useful for diagnosis and treatment of cancer or the like by including a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This new human transcription-associated protein comprises an amino acid sequence of formula I or may include alterations selected from a group consisting of at least one amino acid deletion, substitution or addition. It is pref. to obtain the human transcription-associated protein by incubating a host cell including a recombinant vector having a human gene comprising a base sequence of formula II encoding the human transcription-associated protein and to prepare an antibody to the human transcription-associated protein.
