摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reduction of the content of the cholesterol in a poultry egg by a new method comprising the use of a cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor having an isoprenoid structure. SOLUTION: A cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor having an isoprenoid structure is used. Examples of the inhibitor are tocotrienols of formula I (R1 to R3 are each CH3, R1 and R3 are each CH3 and R2 is H, or the like) and terpenoids. As the terpenoid, a linalool of formula II (R is H or CO-acyl) or the like is preferred. The inhibitor is preferably used by compounding in a conventional feed for poultry. Commonly, it is compounded in an amount of 5-10,000 mg based on 1 kg of the feed. In the case of tocotrienol, it is preferably compounded in an amount of 5-5,000 mg per 1 kg of the feed. The content of cholesterol in a poultry egg, and the contents of triglycerides in an egg and/or plasma of poultry are preferably reduced.
