The tent assembly is intended for erecting at the side of caravans (1) of different lengths (A,B,C). It comprises a separate roof portion (2) secured to a side rail (3) of the caravan and to a tent frame (4), and the outer tent (7) itself with sides (9) and front (8), which is individually secured to a or the frame, and together with the roof portion, forms a complete enclosure. At least the front and sides of the roof portion are dimensioned such that their vertical projections are greater than the corresponding projections of the upper edges of the outer tent.
