<p>Filter consists of a tank, contg. a filter bed which slopes upwards from the tank inlet towards the tank outlet. A filter belt placed under tension by a roller is located on the bed, and can be advanced periodically and automatically according to the amt. of dirt collected on the belt. After leaving the bed, the belt passes through a pair of drying rollers driven by a motor. The drying rollers pref. consist of a lower, idling roller, and a large dia. upper roller made of a synthetic material or steel coated with rubber. Rakes are pref. used to remove dirt from the drying rollers and the used belt. Used e.g. for the filtration of an emulsion of oil and water used as a cooling lubricant when machining metals.</p> |
