PURPOSE:To obtain color television display which uses a multiplex driven type liquid-crystal display body by reading digital chrominance signal data in series by as much as a lateral picture element electrode, and rearraying it to generate a picture element electrode driving signal. CONSTITUTION:A chrominance signal from a chrominance signal processing system is arrayed in three kinds of signal sequences by time-dividing each chrominance signal in a specific horizontal scanning period by the number of lateral picture elements with a primary array circuit. Then, a switch circuit 21 is controlled by a control signal from a control circuit 21 to send a digital chrominance signal sequence to shift registers 23-24, storing color data consisting of bits whose number corresponds to picture element electrodes. A secondary arraying circuit 26 rearrays the chrominance signals according to the arrangement of the picture element electrodes on the basis of the driving timing of a common electrode driving circuit 28, and a picture element electrode driving circuit 27 generates the picture element electrode driving signal. |
