PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coloring composition for a clear ink jet recording hardly causing bleeding, tailing and summing, excellent in coloring properties and fastness by formulating a specific pigment and a resin. SOLUTION: This coloring composition includes a pigment and a resin, and the pigment is coated with a thin membrane of a hardened polymer, such as a hardened material of a thermoset resin having methylol group, insoluble in a dispersing medium, having a polar group selected from an amino group, a quarternary ammonium group, a pyridinium group, a carboxyl group, and a sulfonium group. The pigment is preferably a (poly)azo-based, an azomethineazo-based, an azomethine based, a phthalocyanine-based, a quinacridone-based, an anthraquinone-based, a dioxazine-based, an indigo- thioindigo-based, a perylene-perynone-based or an isoindolinone-based pigments, a carbon black pigment or a titanium oxide pigment. |
