PURPOSE:To enhance an image grade by entirely forming the part adjacent to a color image of a black image by a black dot formed by the color mixture of a plurality of color inks and forming the black image around the adjacent part by mixing the dot of black ink and a black dot due to the mixture of color inks. CONSTITUTION:The data from a host computer 306 are stored in a receiving buffer 307 and a system controller 301 reads the data to judge whether the data contain black data. At the time of a character code containing black data, it is judged whether color images are present so as to be adjacent to the periphery of a black image recording region. When the color images are present and black data is bit image data, black image data is developed on yellow (Y), magneta (M) and cyan (C) buffers for color recording. A head driver 311 is controlled through a printing control part 310 so that black dots due to C, M and Y color inks and black ink dots are mixed in a predetermined ratio with respect to the black data. |
