PURPOSE:To clean a dirt of head automatically and periodically and enable inputs and outputs to be constantly obtained with high quality, by providing a tape with a head-cleaning part at a part thereof. CONSTITUTION:With the head 16 pressed against a platen 15 in order to start printing, the head 16 clamps a paper 17 between it and the platen 15 through the tape 11. When the tape 11 is taken up by rotating a take-up core 13, the cleaning part 11b of the tap 11 makes contact with the head 16 while the tape is fed, whereby the head 16 is cleaned. Then, the platen 15 is rotated to feed the paper 17 by a one-line amount in the direction of an arrow, and printing is conducted again by pressing the head 16 against the platen 15. Printing on the paper 17 can be successively performed by repeating the above operations. When a ribbon part 11a of the tape 11 runs out, the cleaning part 11b again makes contact with the head 16, whereby the head 16 is cleaned. |
