PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous electrolyte battery in which voltage drop in the initial stage of discharge is small and discharge voltage is flat by using a positive active material obtained by baking a mixture of cupric oxide and cuprous sulfide at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:70wtpts Cuo and 30wtpts Cu2S are mixed and baked in the atmosphere of non oxidizing gas such as argon and nitrogen at 400-1100 deg.C for 3 hours to obtain a positive active material. 90wtpts positive active material, 10wtpts graphite, and 5wtpts polytetrafluoroethylene binder are mixed, and molded in a pellet to form a positive electrode 2. The positive electrode 2 is placed on the bottom of a positive can 1 made of stainless steel, and a separator 3 made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric is placed thereon. A negative can 5 inside which a negative electrode 4 comprising lithium metal is placed is fitted to the positive can 1 through a gasket 6, then the opening of the positive can 1 is bent inward to seal a battery. |
