The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with irrotational pistons without crankshaft and with a conversion movement principle in which the translational motion of the piston is converted into rotary motion by a special double guide. The pistons are directed to the working cylinders by a closed "sinusoidal" curve and at the same time guided on 2 guide channels of a conversion axis opposed by up to 180@. The rotary motion of the said conversion axis is transmitted by gears. Actuation of the valves is performed by a face cam disc, either directly or by way of a rocker lever, which cam disc may also have the function of a flywheel and Comprex system drive (variants). Advantages obtainable: absence of difficult (design technology - price) parts such as crankshaft and camshaft, reduction of the masses and centrifugal forces, overall engine height, simplification of lubrication - slide bearings are or may be replaced by roller bearings, compact construction and cheap.
