METHOD OF CARBONACEOUS FIBRES' MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES IMPROVING

The improvement of mechanical and electrical properties of carbon fibres is achieved by their heating in their whole thickness in one or more directions to a required high temperature at tension approximating their ultimate resistance in appropriate atmosphere realized in order to achieve their increased graphitization and crystallization into a structure closing a crystalline graphite. The principle of this solution consists in the fact that the carbon fibres are heated to the temperature exceeding 2,500 degrees C by light amplification of stimulated emission of radiation, with simultaneous tensioning below their ultimate resistance.
