PURPOSE:To obtain a porous carbon material having excellent oxidation resistance and mechanical strength, etc., with controlled pore size by coating the surface of pitch fine granule having a fine optically anisotropic structure with SiO2 particles having a fixed particle diameter, molding and performing carbonizing treatment and graphitizing treatment, in turn. CONSTITUTION:The surface of pitch fine granule having a fine optically anisotropic structure is coated with SiO2 particles having a fixed particle diameter. Otherwise, fine granules having pitch in which fine optically anisotropically structure is irregularly oriented on the surface of SiO2 particles are produced. Then, said particles are molded to a fixed shape, thus a molded material is subjected to carbonizing treatment and graphitizing treatment, in turn, to afford the aimed oxidation-resistant porous carbon material. By said method, SiO2 particles are reduced and carbonized in carbonizing treatment and graphitizing treatment, then resultant Si or SiC, etc., exhibits improving action of oxidation resistance and mechanical strength, etc. The resultant porous carbon material is suitably used as various filter material, etc. |
