Solar energy collector - uses gas as heat-transfer medium

The solar-energy collector heats a medium flowing through a receiver (1) on the focal line of a linear concentrator. Inside the receiver is a receiver pipe (2) with a heat-insulating reflective surface (4) and/or internal large-area dark structures (10). Gas is used as the heat-transfer medium. It can allow the passage of the incoming rays and absorb the reflected ones. ADVANTAGE - Avoids use of expensive oil.
