A device, for holding a stack of pages together, so that they may be easily read, consists of a flat plate (1) with a U shaped bracket attached to one end. The bracket has two lugs with each lug supporting a spiral spring (2,3). The spiral springs are wound opposite hand to each other and are attached to the lugs by bolts (6,7). The springs are so positioned that the radial arm (8) of each spring presses down on the stack of sheets. The arms (8) can be lifted upwards to remove sheets from the stack.
