摘要 Histological tissue sections are treated in commercial ammonium polysulphide soln. which has been adjusted to pH 8.5-8.7 with Fe-free H2SO4 for a few mins. to reduce trivalent Fe to Fe (II). After the redn., the section is washed, treated for 10 mins in a mixt. of equal parts of 20 % aq. K ferricyanide soln. and 1 % HCl, washed with distilled water, the core contrast stained e.g. with para carmine, washed and embedded in balsam in preparation for microscopic examination for determn. of Fe. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process allows rapid treatment of human and animal diagnostic tissue section to reduce Fe (III) to Fe (II)
