Chemically resistant liq. tight flooring - for quick-assembly storage and treatment areas

Chemically resistant liq.-tight covering for quick-assembly storage and/or treatment areas, consisting of large rectangular prefabricated steel-reinforced concrete slabs which are enclosed by a peripheral steel profile and which are laid on a compacted base with joint gaps between adjacent slabs. The slabs (1) have spaced vertical threaded studs in the top region of the peripheral steel profile and each slab (1) has a chemically resistant sealing layer (6) which extends over its top face up to its outer edge and which accommodates a cover layer (8) except at a peripheral edge strip. One or more elastic chemically resistant sealing strips (9) extend over the joint gap (2) and part of the opposite adjacent edge strips and are fixed to the sealing layers (6) by clamping members (11) and the studs. The free space, above the sealing strips (9) and between the adjacent cover layers (8), is filled with a chemically resistant moulding material (13) and is sealed in the plane of the cover layers (8) by a cover (14) fixed on the studs (5). Pref. the sealing layer (6) is formed of an elastomer foil and a laminated chemically resistant resin. The cover layer (8) consists of concrete or hard plaster coated with a chemically resistant sealing layer. The sealing strips (9) consist of a fluoroplastics or rubber, pref. rubber-coated polyvinylidene fluoride foil. The moulding material (13) is a mixt. of epoxy resin and tar. USE/ADVANTAGE - The covering is useful as a floor of a quick-assembly warehouse or the like. It is chemically resistant and liq.-tight and can be used in combination with large prefabricated steel-reinforced concrete slabs.
