PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner quantity detection device detecting the remaining quantity of toner stepwise. SOLUTION: This toner quantity detection device is provided with a plurality of toner containers 4, 5, 6 and 7 which are mutually continuously arranged and in which the toner is housed. Besides, it is constituted by being provided with a developing roller 1 fitted to the container 7 positioned at one end and set for supplying the toner to the electrostatic latent image of a photoreceptor and developing it, toner strring paddles 3 installed at the respective containers 4, 5, 6 and 7 so as to stir the housed toner and set for feeding the toner by the quantity of toner which is already used to the toner containers being adjacent in the feeding direction D of the toner advanced to the roller 1 and toner existence sensors 2 installed at the respective containers 4, 5, 6 and 7 so as to detect whether the toner exists in the containers 4, 5, 6 and 7 or not. |
