<p>PURPOSE:To make a wheel installable with a small force by installing a wheel holding means free of movements to a device body of a wheel setter in the axial direction, in this device which holds the wheel by the wheel holding means inclusive of plural pieces of holding arms and attaching it to a wheel hub. CONSTITUTION:A wheel setter for attaching a wheel to a wheel hub of a vehicle so far conveyed on an automobile assembly line has a device body 10 to be attached to a tip part of a robot arm. At the time of wheel setting, the device body 10 is shifted up to a position opposing to the wheel in the state that each holding arm 39 installed in three spots on a circumference and two nut runners 66 are made to be on standby at the most retracted position. Next, an actuator 37 is retractably moved and, after the wheel is held between the holding arms 39, the robot arm is driven and the held wheel is attached to a wheel hub. Subsequently, the nut runner 66 is projected by an extension motion of the actuator 17, thereby having the screwing of the hub bolt performed in this way.</p> |
