PURPOSE:To enhance sharpness by incorporating a substantially non- photosensitive silver halide emulsion or a silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains fogged on their surfaces or in their insides in at least one of auxiliary layer and incorporating colloidal silver in at least one of the other auxiliary layers. CONSTITUTION:At least 2 auxiliary layers are formed at the position farther from a support than the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer located farthest from the support. At least one of the auxiliary layers contains a substantially nonphotosensitive silver halide emulsion or silver halide grains fogged on their surfaces or in their insides, and at least one of the remaining auxiliary layers contains colloidal silver. As the silver halide flat silver halide grains are employed, and the diameters of these grains are in the range of 0.4-5.0mum, preferably, in the range of 0.8-4.0mum. In general, the flat silver halide grains have 2 parallel faces, and the thickness means the distance between the 2 parallel faces. In this way, sharpness in high and low frequency regions can be enhanced. |
