PURPOSE:To obtain a composite coated metallic article having desired characteristics by dipping a metallic material in a mixed metal prepd. by adding a finely divided inorg. substance to an alloy in a state in which solid and liq. coexist with each other. CONSTITUTION:An alloy such as a Zn-Al alloy is kept at a temp. producing a state in which solid and liq. coexist with each other, and a finely divided inorg. substance such as particles of ceramics such as Al2O3 or staple fibers of ceramics or carbon is uniformly dispersed in the alloy while stirring the alloy. A metallic material to be coated is dipped in the resulting mixed melt to form a composite coating by hot dipping. By this method a composite coated metallic article having superior corrosion resistance, wear resistance and heat resistance is obtd. |
