<p>The invention concerns a machine for grasping and lopping tree trunks, comprising a frame, feed rollers for enclosing and move along the tree trunk, a lopping device comprising a pair of pivoting blades curved inwards (31, 32) to grasp the tree trunk and a device controlling the feed rollers and the lopping device, the lopping device further including a second pair of pivoting blades curved inwards (41, 42), and a fifth bent blade (53) supported by the frame. The invention is characterised in that the blades of the second pair (41, 42) are each linked to one particular blade of the first pair (31, 32) such that the movements of the blades of both pairs are synchronised and that, when said pairs of blades are closed, the five blades (31, 32, 41, 42, 53) circumscribe a closed contour and are practically in maximum contact with the tree trunk whole circumference.</p> |
