The mirror can be installed in place of a conventional mirror. It has sensors which detect the intensity of incoming light from ahead (A) and behind (B). The sensor outputs are fed to a microprocessor circuit (D). If a potential dazzle situation is detected, a variable current (E) is passed through the electrochromic coating on the mirror, darkening the reflection.
