According to the invention, a linear guide (9), which, as is already known in the case of so-called square-cutting devices, runs obliquely with respect to the direction of movement of the workpieces, is used in combination with a further straight-line guide (10), which is arranged in a particular manner with respect to the said linear guide and cooperates therewith and which runs obliquely in the opposite direction, in the case of a so-called form-cutting device (7).
