The detection method comprises (a)connecting the temperature measuring apparatus to the brush holder of the commutator motor equipped with a brush and operating the motor at a time interval of 30 mins to measure the saturation temperature of the brush; (b)heating the brush to be tested up to the measured temperature of the reference brush; and (c) measuring the change in the thickness of the test brush.
