PURPOSE: To provide a copying machine provided with a document automatic feeding device having a highly efficient, quick temperature lowering means for contact glass. CONSTITUTION: In the copying machine having a document automatic carrying device 2, it has a temperature detecting sensor 34 for detecting the temperature rise of a contact glass 18 by the heating of a copy lamp 20, and when the data shows a value not less than a certain prescribed value, an optical system unit 19 is made to scan and tempolary to be separated from the contact glass, after prohibition or completion of copying, for a specified distance or time to cool accumulated heat in the contact glass 18. |
