PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a high speed signal of which size reduction can be attained by providing a first signal contact and a second grand contact in either one of a plug or a jack, and providing a second signal contact and a first grand contact in the other. SOLUTION: A signal contact is composed of a springy first signal contact 41 and a plate-like second signal contact 42. A grand contact is composed of a springy first grand contact 43 and a plate-like second grand contact 44. Either one of a plug 4 or a jack 5 has the first signal contact 41 and the second grand contact 44. The other has the second signal contact 42 and the first grand contact 43. Therefore, a connector for a high speed signal by which surface mounting can be performed and crosstalk is reduced and on which size reduction can be attained, can be obtained.
