PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly display two images including a map image by outputting a first video signal to a display, and outputting a second video signal instead of the first video signal to the display when a reading means reads non-map data. SOLUTION: A CPU 7 sets the storage position of a V-RAM 18 that corresponds to the display region of the map image of the display screen of a display device 16 to a map display area. The map data for the map display area with a desired point as a center are read from a CD-ROM 10 and are written into each storage position of the map display area, and non-map data are written to other storage positions of the V-RAM 18. Data are successively read from each storage position of the V-RAM 18 and are outputted as a first video signal and a synchronized second video signal is generated by a screen controller. The first video signal is outputted to the display via a relay and the second video signal is outputted to the display instead via the relay when the non-map data are read, thus displaying two images including a map image on the same screen.
