PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller and a control method for stopping drain abnormality of a multiroom air conditioner in which operation only of abnormal drain indoor unit can be stopped by making a decision whether an expansion valve is normal or not. SOLUTION: A multiroom air conditioner comprises a plurality of indoor units 3n connected with one outdoor unit 1 and performs cooling by passing a coolant to the heat exchanger 12n of the indoor unit 3n through an expansion valve 25n thereby expanding the coolant. Upon occurrence of drain abnormality in any one indoor unit 3n, a decision is made whether the expansion valve 25 is normal or not based on the temperature of the heat exchanger 12 of that indoor unit. If the expansion valve 25 is abnormal, compressors 13, 14 of the outdoor unit 1 are stopped and if the expansion valve 25 is normal, operation only of that indoor unit is stopped. |
