SOLUTION: A display device 2 such as a liquid crystal projector and a plasma display displays languages or areas on a menu screen for image adjustment through the operation of a remote control 1, etc., and when a language or area is selected, an initial value of the tone matching the flash color corresponding to the language or area is automatically set.
