PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an organic electroluminescent device having a structured electrode, especially for a display having a structured metallic top electrode. SOLUTION: At least two layer 3, 4 on a bottom part electrode 2 located on a substrate 1 is coated so that the first layer 3 is electrically insulated and is not damaged when the second layer 4 is coated, a clear boundary is remained as it is between the both layers, the first layer 3 shows a higher solubility than the second layer 4 in a liquid development agent, and the second layer 4 can be structured. The second layer 4 is structured, the structure is transferred on the first layer 3, at least an organic system function layer 5 is provided on the second layer 4, and a top electrode 6 is precipitated on the organic system function layer 5.
