PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinear loop mirror where an output optical pulse is determined by one output port and signal light having a stable intensity can be obtained. SOLUTION: An inputted signal optical pulse is branched into two by a 2×2 photo coupler 12 and is inputted to a fiber loop mirror 20. Nonlinear mediums 23 and 24 are arranged on the loop mirror 20. A control optical pulse is inputted to the loop mirror and passes these nonlinear mediums to change the carrier density of mediums. Thus, the phase and the intensity of the signal optical pulse are changed, and interference in the photo coupler 12 is utilized to perform switching. |
