A vehicle transmission incorporating a plurality of prop shafts (108, 110, 112) and bearings (114, 116) by which they are carried by the vehicle chassis. The prop shaft train conveys a drive from the engine to the differential gear (104) connected to the driving wheels. The prop shafts are separated from the bearings and are connected thereto by flange (170) connections. Each prop shaft has a universal joint (120, 122) at each end. The prop shaft connected to the differential gear is a length compensating shaft. The bearings are arranged to receive liquid lubricant. |
