When a downstream-side component different in size from an upstream-side component is to be connected selectively and detachably with the upstream-side component, connection is made by sharing the mechanical and electrical connection of the upstream-side component and at the same time by using a mechanical and electrical connection means matching in size the downstream-side component. This connection means is used for connection of the trunk, feet, head and the like of a robot.
